Very well written

This book is a beginning text on how we might better manage conflicts in our daily lives. We all have conflicts in our lives, with spouses, co-workers, friends, family and more. Most of us never think about how we might approach these conflicts. What I especially like about the approach used in this book is the way the authors have come up with dozens of case studies or situations. They are short but to the point. They are used to illustrate the theoretical points that the authors are discussing at the time.

For instance:

A Navy ship sees they are in a collision course with another ship and radio them: Alter your course ten degrees to the north, we are a battleship. The other ship replies: We’re a lighthouse, suggest you alter course.

This is to illustrate that assumptions might be at the base of a conflict and that explaining the true situation might be a much better than fighting. The Navy would not like it if someone ran their battleship into the rocks around the lighthouse. Retaining the thought about the battleship hitting the rocks will help you remember about assumptions.

Naturally I bought this because I had to for a BSU class. Good news- the chapters are small and easily cram-able for quiz. Nothing worse than taking up space just to take up space. Did I get enough words for Amazon review?
